At this point in the summer we are deep into the consumption of our summer produce. Broccoli, green beans, red cabbage, beets, romaine and butter lettuces, green chard, rainbow chard, chives, garlic, mint, oregano, basil, green tomatoes, Thai basil, and cilantro, have all ended up our salads and stirfrys, pastas and sauces, dressings and pickles. I have gardened before, but never on this scale, and i find it very, truly, madly, deeply satisfying to feed myself, my family, our friends and our neighbors, now and over the fall and winter ahead, from the land we have wrestled into Compliance with Our Legume Visions & Cruciferous Wishes.
